Sparky’s NASCAR Challenge Rules

General Object

To promote interest in NASCAR and have some fun!

Costs and Prizes

First and foremost, no money will be accepted until the end of the Challenge Schedule. This is a gentlemen’s honor. If you start, you are in for the entire challenge.

The cost will be $1.00 for each race that a driver earns points for the Winston Cup (currently 36 races). So, the most you will lose is $36.00.

At the end of the Challenge Schedule I will post the balance sheet showing what is due to you, or to me. As soon as I collect from the teams that owe, I will pay out to the winners.

Challenge Payouts will be computed as follows:

1 to 10 teams

        55% to 1^stplace.
        35% to 2^ndplace.
        10% to 3^rdplace.

11 to 20 teams

        45% to 1^stplace.
        25% to 2^ndplace.
        15% to 3^rdplace.
        10% to 4^thplace.
          5% to 5^thplace.

21 or more teams

        30% to 1^stplace.
        20% to 2^ndplace.
        14% to 3^rdplace.
        10% to 4^thplace.
          8% to 5^thplace.
          7% to 6^thplace.
          6% to 7^thplace.
          5% to 8^thplace.

All ties split the money awarded for the challenge. Should 2 tie for 1st then both split the money available. If the payout calls for 1st and 2nd, then the payouts would be combined and split between.
Examples:

8 Team Challenge pays:

1st - $158.40
2nd - $100.80
3rd - $28.80

If there is a tie for 1st, 1st & 2nd $ are combined to pay each $129.60, and the 3rd place team receives $28.80

A three way tie for 1st would combine all $ and each would receive $96.00.

How To Play

Simple: Each race you choose a driver.

Here's the catch: You may only use a driver once during the entire challenge.

Each Race: You earn the total points that the driver earns for the race.

The challenge will run for the entire NASCAR season. Points accumulate during the season.

Point Scoring

Each owner accumulates points earned by his/her driver for each race based upon the Official NASCAR Point System outlined below:

Five additional bonus points are awarded to each driver who leads a lap and 5 bonus points go to the driver who leads the most laps.

Deadline:

Each owner must have their driver chosen and registered before the start of the race.

Race Results

I will make every effort to have race results available as soon as the results are posted official on the NASCAR web page: . I will give sufficient notice if I am going to be late with the results.

ERRORS: Occasionally an error may be made. If you feel you have located an error, notify the race director immediately. You have until the next race to detect the error and bring it to my attention.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES: You may enter as many teams as you wish.
